Vegetables
Cherokee Purple Tomato
Dusky rose shoulders, a deep smoky sweetness, and the best slicing tomato we grow.
Vegetables
Capsicum annuum
Long, curling, crimson, and sweeter fried than any pepper has any business being.
Thin-walled red frying peppers that curl and taper to eight inches. No heat at all — just sugar and a rich fruitiness that concentrates the moment they hit a hot pan with olive oil. Prolific enough that a few plants will keep a kitchen supplied through late summer. The peppers dry well too, if you can keep from eating them first.
Where it comes from. Carried from Basilicata, Italy to Connecticut in 1887 by the Nardello family.
