Tennis-ball-sized cucumbers that ripen to a soft lemon yellow — the name is about the look, not the flavor, which is mild, sweet, and completely free of the bitterness that makes people peel cucumbers. Thin skin, no need to peel at all. Vigorous vines produce heavily; pick at golf-to-tennis-ball size, because they turn seedy and tough if you let them go orange.
